The Kecak Dance is a colossal dance that combines dance movements with the Ramayana storyline. In general, this dance is performed by dozens of male dancers, all of whom are characteristically bare-chested and wearing Balinese checkered cloth around their waists.
The Kecak dance was created by a Balinese artist named Wayan Limbak and a German painter named Walter Spies in 1930.
In the performance the dancers sit in a circle and together shout the words "cak, cak, cak" while raising both hands.
The story based on the Kecak dance tells about the search for Sita by Rama who is assisted by Hanoman.
The harmonization of the voices and movements of dozens of dancers is the characteristic of the Kecak dance, resulting in a dance that has magical and amazing nuances.
