This offers a great variety of fish.. Great for all levels of divers. The beach is crowded with about a hundred colorful "Jukung," local outrigger fishing canoes powered by sails or small outboards. Experienced divers take a five minute boat ride to the site a head (or on you right hand if you facing the sea) then are dropped to a wonderful wall. The left hand side is a coral sloop down to 30m where you can see a lot of artificial pyramid where there is a lot of fish and macro stuff in it. Visibility is generally between 10-20m.
Amed is generally calm year round.
Depending on the moon and tides, occasionally there may be strong currents and surge. Conditions dictate your dives. Check with your guide which site you will be exploring. Students and beginners start off the beach and head east.
